These are some commonly asked questions about FESS, Fire Emblem, and the fandom as a whole. If your question is not asked, feel free to head over to the forums and ask your question there.

What is Fire Emblem?

Fire Emblem is a popular series of SRPG games. Created in 1990, the series currently stands at 10 iterations and is enjoyed by fans from all over the world. The series has garnered attention throughout the video game community, and remains famous for its "permanent death" gimmick.

What games are available in English?

Every game since FE7 has been released in English. The prior six games have fan translations floating about the internet.

What about ROMs? Where can I get those?

Not from here. There are loads of ROM sites on the internet, but we have strict rules against ROM requests. Lucky for you, however, we have a friend of a friend who knows where you can get ROMs.

What about the Translation Patches? Do you have those?

Yup, sure do. Check out the translation section for each game for the patches.

Ugh, X game is so hard! I can't beat Y chapter no matter how hard I try! Help?

You can check our walkthroughs for each game. If that fails, feel free to ask in our forums.

What game are Marth/Roy/Ike/Samus in? I use them all the time in Melee/Brawl!

Marth is in the first game and the third game. Roy is in FE6: Sword of Seals and makes a very brief cameo at the end of FE7: The Blazing Sword. Ike is in both FE9 and FE10. Samus is in the Metroid games.

What is FEDS?

FEDS is an upcoming remake of the first Fire Emblem game, coming out for the Nintendo DS handheld console.

What games are for what systems?

NES: FE1-FE2, SNES: FE3-FE5, GBA: FE6-FE8, Gamecube: FE9, Wii: FE10

What is FESS?

FESS stands for Fire Emblem: Sanctuary of Strategy. It was founded on June 29, 2002 by Terranigma Freak and Captamzai. Although both of those members have since moved on from the site, FESS is still operational under new leadership, with a constantly changing roster of admins and moderators run under a 'root admin'. The current root admin is Sword_Saint.

I can't tell the difference between the General Discussion board and the Craziness Domain!

That's not a question. It doesn't even end in a question mark!

I can't tell the difference between the General Discussion board and the Craziness Domain?

That's much better. The General Discussion board is for general Fire Emblem discussion (i.e. What FE Game Is Your Favorite?) and more light discussion, but with a more conversational and serious subject matter than the Craziness Domain (though not a debate, which falls in line for the Serious Discussion board). The Craziness Domain is for anything that's too silly for the General Discussion Board. Basically, you should look at your topic; if you want people to take it seriously, put it in General Discussion, if you're just being silly, then off to the Craziness Domain you go.

What's the FESS Manual of Prowess? It sure looks like something that everyone should be reading!

Those are the rules. If you don't read them, you're going to look awfully stupid in front of everyone when you break one of the rules.

Who is Superbus? Everyone's always talking about him, but he's not showing up anywhere!

Superbus is a pretty cool French band. All the cool kids listen to them because of all their awesome songs. Personally, I think that Butterfly's a pretty good song, but Tchi Cum Bah is my favorite. And Ennamie Benabar! That's also a good one too. They're kind of pop-sounding, but it's much better than the trash that is American pop music. You should listen to them!

Oh, and um, there's that guy who owns the website or whatever, but he's unimportant. The only thing you should know is that Superbus is a great band! They even have a song called Lola, which is about LESBIANS! Awesome, right?

I found a grammar/spelling error on your site! What do I do? Also, I wrote an AWESOME guide for one of the games! You should totally host it on your site!
