Chapter 6 Walkthrough

Ganeishire

Notes on the Second Generation

Seventeen years have passed since the end of chapter 5. Most of your old units are dead, and your army from here on out will consist primarily of the children of characters from the first generation. As I mentioned before, these children are not preset, but change depending on their parents--the son taking after the father, and the daughter taking after the mother. If you did not pair one of the female characters from the first generation, or if one of them died, then you will instead receive substitute characters, who are in general worse than the children. When introducing new characters, I will mention both the sub and the child, but will only go into detail about the sub, because the children can vary wildly.

Conversations are, for the most part, unchanged by whether you got a sub or a child. In those cases, I will list both characters in the conversation section. There are a few cases where only one or the other has a conversation, in which case I will of course only list one.

There are also many hidden bonuses that the subs receive. For example, in this very chapter, if Dimna enters Isaac after it is conquered, he will receive +5 strength, whereas Lester will not. There is one bonus event per sub, so watch out for them if you got any subs.

Finally, most of the items in shops and dropped by bosses only appear if they were not passed down from father to son or mother to daughter. For example, Sigurd's silver sword will appear in the shop for this chapter, but only if he didn't pass it to Celice.

Other than that, the second generation is basically the same as the first, so you shouldn't have too much trouble adjusting to it.

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Celice Celice is Sigurd and Deirdre's son. He starts as a Junior Lord, but promotes into Knight Lord, the same class his father had. He has unusually high magic and resistance for a physical unit, but other than that, his growths follow the same pattern as Sigurd's, but are higher.
Skasaha Skasaha is a Swordfighter, and Aira's son. He varies from father to father, but will always be a good unit, given how powerful his mother was.
Rodolban Rodolban is a Swordfighter who promotes to Forrest, and is Skasaha's substitute. He has high skill, but mediocre stats elsewhere. His skills are Pursuit and Ambush.
Lakche Lakche is Aira's daughter and a Swordfighter who promotes to Swordmaster. Her growths are even better than her mother's, regardless of her father, so make sure to use her. She gains Continue upon promotion if she did not inherit it from her father.
Radnay Radnay is the sub for Lakche. She's a Swordfighter promoting to Forrest, who has mediocre growths. Her only skill is Pursuit.
Lana Lana is Aideen's daughter. She promotes from Priest to High Priest. She likely starts with good staves such as libro right off the bat, making her more useful than her mother.
Mana Mana is Lana's substitute, and is also a Priest. Her stats are pretty low, though she does have higher resistance than most. She has no skills.
Oifaye Oifaye is a Paladin with Critical and Pursuit. He has high strength and skill growths, as well as unusually high starting stats for magic and resistance. He starts at level 15, though, so try not to use him too much in the beginning, to give your other units a chance to level up. He joins automatically on turn 3.
Delmud Delmud is Lachesis' son. He is a Free Knight who promotes to Forest Knight. His usefulness largely depends on his father. He gains Continue upon promotion if he did not already have it. He joins with Oifaye.
Tristan Tristan is Delmud's sub, and is also a Free Knight. His only skill is Critical, gaining Continue upon promotion. He has high hp, but low stats elsewhere. He joins with Oifaye on turn 3.
Lester Lester is an Arch Knight, and Aideen's son. He ranges from useless to pretty good, depending on his father, though he is rarely exceptional. He comes on turn 3 with Oifaye.
Dimna Dimna is Lester's sub, and is an Arch Knight. His only skill is Pursuit, and he has good skill and pretty good defense.

Fortunately, this chapter starts off fairly slow to let you get used to your new characters. Sigurd's silver sword is in the shop if you didn't pass it down, so go ahead and have Celice buy it. If you have Lakche and Skasaha, those two can probably defeat all of the enemies on the path to Ganeishire by themselves, but try to let Celice get some experience--the end of the game will be very difficult indeed if he is underleveled. If you have Radnay and Rodolban, things will be a bit trickier, but you should be able to dodge most or all enemy attacks either way. Make sure to have Lana (or Mana) heal you when you get injured, and you shouldn't have any issue.

On turn three, Oifaye, Delmud/Tristan, and Lester/Dimna arrive. Dimna and Tristan won't be all that much help if you got them, but Oifaye is a big help. He comes with an iron cutter sword, which is useful if your other units are having trouble defeating the Axe and Bow Armors.

After a while, the village in the northeast will be attacked, so you might want to send one of your mounted units to save it. Other than that, just progress slowly, making sure to stay healed, and you should be fine. Once you reach Ganeishire, kill the boss however you want, using Oifaye's iron cutter if needed. He drops a return ring if you didn't pass down the one you got in chapter 2, but it isn't very important who gets it. Capture the castle once you're done.

Isaac and Sophara

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Julia Julia is a Shaman promoting to Sage who has very high magic and resistance, but mediocre stats elsewhere. However, if you play your cards right, she can obtain the very useful rezire spell, which absorbs hp from her opponent, and you obtain it in this chapter. Her skills are Pursuit, Continue, and Nihil. She joins the turn you conquer Ganeishire.
Fee Fee is a Pegasus Knight, and Fury's daughter. Her stats won't (usually) be all that spectacular, but she is highly useful for rescuing distant villages. She joins the turn after you conquer Ganeishire.
Femina Femina is Fee's sub, and is thus a Pegasus Knight. Her only skill is Continue, and the only stats she's good in are speed and luck.
Arthur Arthur is Tiltyu's son. He's a Mage who promotes to Mage Knight. His usefulness varies greatly with his father. He joins with Fee/Femina.
Amid Amid is Arthur's sub, but unlike Arthur, is a Wind Mage who promotes to Mage Fighter. He has good skill, decent speed and magic, and bad everything else. His only skill is Continue.
Johan Johan is an Axe Knight, and his sole skill is Ambush. He has good defense and speed, though his speed is ruined by wielding only axes, which are quite heavy. He is recruited by talking to him with Lakche/Radnay, but he cannot be recruited if Johalva has been recruited.
Johalva Johalva is an Axefighter, gaining bows upon promoting to Warrior. His skill is Charge, and good strength and defense. His starting speed is good, but the growth is abysmal. Recruited by talking with Lakche/Radnay, but cannot be recruited if Johan has been.

Lana/Mana receives +3 hp, Celice and Lana/Mana relations improve. Only available after conquering Sophara.
Only available after conquering either Isaac or Sophara. If Sophara is the most recently captured, Julia receives an aura tome, and if Isaac is the most recently captured, she receives a rezire tome.

Other: Have Dimna enter Isaac after you conquer it for +5 strength. Have Radnay and either Johan or Johalva stand next to each other for 10 turns, and Radnay will receive +2 strength and +3 luck.

After conquering Ganeishire, both of the previously neutral armies turn into enemies. The western group of Axe Fighters is led by Johalva, and the southern group of Axe Knights is lead by Johan. Both of them are recruitable by speaking to them with Lakche or Radnay, but once you recruit one, the other becomes unrecruitable, so be careful. Look at my descriptions above, and pick which to recruit from that. Note that if you did not pass down the elite ring, Johalva has it (dropping it if he dies), and if you didn't pass down the speed ring, Johan has it (also dropping it if he dies).

That same turn, you'll receive two new allies, Fee/Femina, and Arthur/Amid. They arrive near Sophara, in a perfect placement to save the nearby villages. Fee (or Femina) comes with a berserk sword, which has a chance of inflicting the berserk status on an enemy. If an enemy is berserked, then they will attack their fellow enemies, only attacking your troops if no enemies are in range.

Once you recruit either Johan or Johalva, their troops become allies, and the group of Axe Knights way down to the south will begin to charge. However, your current enemies are more likely to target your new allies than your own troops, so it'll be easy to finish them off before the new enemies arrive. If you recruited Johan, the Axe Knights will take Isaac back on their way up.

Regardless of who you recruited, make sure to save the village just to the south of the area you've been fighting in--it contains a skill ring. After doing that, form your lines up and wait for the enemies to arrive. They are all equipped with hand axes, so if you think they can survive it, have your long range attackers stand just within range in order to counterattack on the first turn. Otherwise, you should be able to dodge a good number of the enemy attacks, as hand axes are very inaccurate. The boss, however, has a hero axe, and is very dangerous. Try to kill him the first turn you can, preferably with Johan/Johalva, as he drops his hero axe.

Now, before you conquer any castles, a quick note about one of the conversations. After you first conquer either Isaac or Sophara, Julia will be able to talk to Celice. If the most recent of the two castles you've conquered is Sophara, then Julia will receive an aura tome, but if the most recent castle you've conquered is Isaac, she will receive a rezire tome. Aura is more powerful than rezire, but is also much heavier, and rezire has the very useful property that it restores hp to Julia equal to the damage done to the enemy. I highly recommend not initiating the conversation unless the most recent castle conquered is Isaac. If you recruited Johalva, you don't need to worry, as Sophara will be allied anyways. There is also a conversation between Lana (or Mana) and Celice, in which Lana/Mana receives +3 hp, but only if you conquer Sophara, so you must recruit Johan to get this one.

Rivough

There's not much to say here, all that's left is the boss. He has very high strength and defense for this point in the game, but has no way to counterattack at long range, so just attack him with your magic users. He drops the thief sword if you didn't pass it down. Capture the castle after saving the village just to the north of it.

Chapter 7 Walkthrough

Yied

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Leaf Leaf is very similar to Lachesis. He also starts out very mediocre, and also promotes to the incredibly powerful Master Knight class. His stats are pretty good across the board, the only subpar one being luck. He is Cuan and Ethlin's son, inheriting Ethlin's swords.
Fin Fin is the only character who is playable in both the first and the second generations. He starts with the same stats as he had before, and unless you paired him up in the first generation, he has all of his old items as well. The enemies in this generation tend to be stronger, however, so he won't be as useful once your other units have caught up in levels.
Nanna Nanna is a Troubador, and Lachesis' daughter. Her healing abilities are probably mediocre, but depending on her father, she might be an effective fighter.
Janne Janne is Nanna's substitute. Her only strong stat is skill, though she does have more magic and resistance than most versions of Nanna do. She has no skills.
Shanan Shanan is a Swordmaster with overkill skill and pretty good defense. However, he can obtain the holy Balmung the first turn you have him, and its +20 speed and +10 skill make up for any deficiencies he might have. His skills are Pursuit, Continue, and Meteor Sword.
Patty Patty is a Thief. She is Brigid's daughter, but inherits her father's weapons. She can range from nigh useless to quite effective depending on her father.
Daisy Daisy is Patty's sub, and another Thief. Her skills are Steal (obviously), and Prayer. Her speed is good, but she's pretty bad elsewhere.

Nanna/Janne gets +1 luck.

The beginning of this chapter has your army split into three groups. In addition to your main army in Rivough, you have Shanan and Daisy/Patty over by Yied, and Leaf, Fin, and Nanna/Janne by Lenster. Try to level up Leaf, as he's quite powerful after promotion, but if you find that difficult, feel free to use Fin. He's the same level he was when he left you at the beginning of chapter 4, so he should be at least strong enough to do some pretty heavy damage to the enemies. At any rate, make sure to have your Troubador heal when necessary, and make sure to stay in forests. The first village on the right has a speed ring, so don't save it immediately if you have somebody in mind for it. The first village on the left has a Barrier Sword in it, but the only person who can retrieve it is Laylea, the sub for Sylvia's daughter. If you didn't pair Sylvia up, make sure not to save that village yet.

As for the group up by Yied, make sure to have Shanan talk to Patty or Daisy on the first turn, as he'll receive the holy Balmung, a sword which gives +20 speed and +10 skill. If you took my advice in chapter 4, and Patty inherited a return ring, have her use it now, so she can escape the danger. If she doesn't have one, or if you got Daisy, then just have her retreat--you'll have to have Shanan make sure to kill all the enemies before they reach her.

The area just outside Rivough is crawling with Dark Mages, but fortunately they aren't in formation. If they were in formation, you'd need to worry about them all attacking at once, but in their current disordered state, the Dark Mages can be lured in and killed one by one. Make sure to have Oifaye talk to Delmud (or Tristan) for some stat boosts.

There's no real need to send anyone other than Celice up to Yied, as Shanan is more than capable of taking care of all the enemies. Have all your other troops start heading south. They won't be able to pass the neutral Swordfighters, but get up to them, and have them wait for Celice to arrive.

The boss of Yied will gain a long range spell if you take too long, so try to have Shanan take him out as soon as possible. He drops the bargain ring if you didn't pass it down, but that's ok, as Shanan can greatly from bargain, given how expensive the Balmung is to repair.

There are two relevant conversations here, one between Celice and Shanan, and one between Lakche/Radnay and Shanan. Get them before or after conquering Yied, it's your choice. Once you're all done, capture the castle.

Melgen
Conversations
Initiator Recipient Effect
Celice receives a hero sword.
Now that you've conquered Yied, a formidable army will form up around Melgen. Don't worry, though, they won't attack until you are in range. A path through the cliffs near Yied will appear, allowing Celice, Shanan, and Patty/Daisy a faster route to the rest of your troops. While you move them down, make sure to have Patty (or Daisy) talk to Celice--she'll give him a hero sword. If you passed down Aira's this will be your second (and if you didn't pass it down, you'll be getting it back in the next chapter). While they're coming down, have Fee go save the village to the left of Darna--it contains a shield ring.

Once Celice is reunited with your army, start working your way down. The boss guarding the castle has a thunderstorm tome, a long ranged thunder spell. You definitely don't want anyone other than Shanan (or Arthur if his father is Levin) in range of that, but you do need to lure out the enemies. Fortunately, the one of the Thunder Mages' attack range extends one square beyond the reach of thunderstorm. Lure him out with whoever you think best, then start falling back, though making sure to keep the one of the enemies in range each turn. After a turn or two, you should have retreated enough to attack the enemies without fear of being hit by thunderstorm. After that, defeat them however you want. The boss of this group drops a magic ring if you didn't pass it down.

Shanan should take out the enemies around the castle, as he's probably your only character strong enough. The boss drops Tiltyu's Tron tome (which is impossible to pass down). Go ahead and seize the castle once you're done.

Darna

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Aless Aless is a Social Knight who has frighteningly high strength and decent defense, but none of his other stats stand out. However, he has the holy Mistoltin sword, which grants +20 skill, +10 resistance, and the Critical skill. This means that he is able to survive against magical enemies, and will likely kill even armored enemies in one round. His only real weakness is his physical defense. Make sure to use him.
Tinny Tinny is a Mage, and Tiltyu's daughter. Her usefulness depends on her father.
Linda Linda is Tinny's sub, but unlike Tinny, is a Thunder Mage. She has Elite and Wrath. Her stats aren't anything special, but her skill set can make her useful.

Other: If both Rodolban and Tristan are below level 10, have them stand next to each other. Tristan will gain +2 strength, +1 speed, and +1 defense, while Rodolban gains +2 strength, +1 skill, and +1 defense.

After conquering Melgen, several things will happen at once. From the north will come a group of Free Knights and Arch Knights, and from the east will come a group of Sword Armors (heading for Lenster) and various types of Mages, heading for your main army.

The next turn, the Social Knight accompanying the northern Free Knights, Aless, will join your side. He is extremely powerful offensively, but he can be defeated by the enemies near him if you aren't careful. I'd suggest having him run and switch to his iron lance, so that the surviving enemies block off places where enemies yet to come could have attacked from.

Send all of your mounted units up north, as well as Celice. Be careful with Fee/Femina, though, because of the Arch Knights. The boss is faster than most enemies, so you'll have trouble hitting him twice. He drops a skill ring if you didn't pass it down.

Meanwhile, have Leaf's group fend off the new group of Sword Armors the same way they dealt with the last. The group of Mages will ignore them unless they're in the way, so let Celice's army deal with them.

It's probably a good idea to stick Shanan on one of the forest leading from Melgen to Alster. Have Arthur (or Amid) right behind him, though, as he can recruit one of the Mages, Tinny (or Linda if Tiltyu wasn't paired up).

Three of the enemies (Fetra, Vampa, and Eliu) can pull of the devastating triangle attack (in which they auto-critical) if they are all adjacent to the same unit. Be careful not to let that happen. It's unlikely to happen, though, as you'll probably kill them too quickly.

Alster

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Leen Leen is a Dancer, and is Sylvia's daughter. She, in all likelihood, will have limited to no combat usefulness. However, because of her dancing, she will inevitably be useful, though not for fighting. Have Aless enter Darna to recruit her.
Laylea Laylea is Sylvia's sub, and thus a Dancer. In addition to Dance, she has Charisma as a skill. Her speed and strength growths are good, but low caps mean those growths are wasted. All in all, use her for dancing and nothing else.

Other: If you have Laylea save the village nearest to Lenster, she will receive the barrier sword, which gives +7 resistance. After Blume if dead, have Daisy and Shanan stand next to each other, and Daisy with receive +3 speed and skill.

There isn't that much left to do. If you paired Fin up in the first generation, he might have a conversation here. Otherwise, just take out Blume, but watch out--he has the Tor Hammer, which grants +20 skill and +10 speed. Only Aless and Shanan should be used to fight him. He drops a silver broadsword if you didn't pass it down. Once he's gone, just have Celice capture Alster to end the chapter.

Conote

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Faval Faval is a Bowfighter. Despite being Brigid's son, he inherits her weapons and holy blood. Thus, he has the Ichival regardless of what pairing you chose. Thus, he will always be highly useful. Recruit him by talking to him with Patty.
Asaello Asaello is Faval's sub, recruited by talking to him with Daisy. He has pretty good strength and good luck, but is only decent elsewhere. Not nearly as good as Faval, but can be useful in his own way. His skills are Pursuit and Charge.

Celice receives +1 luck. Not available after Ishtar leaves the map.
Fee/Femina receives +3 HP, and her relations with Arthur/Amid improve.
Leaf receives +3 strength.
Faval/Asaello is recruited.
None

Other: Have Fee stand on a specific square on the white mountain just south of the river before conquering Conote, and she will have a chat with her Pegasus. Furthermore, have Linda stand on the tree tile at the southern tip of the river to receive +3 resistance. After obtaining Linda's event, have Amid stand on the tree a bit further north for him to receive +3 resistance as well. Finally, have Asaello enter the village just north of Conote to receive +3 strength.

Your team starts off in two groups this time. Your main army is down in Conote threatened by a group of Armor Knights, while Leaf, Fin, and Nanna/Janne are up in Lenster threatened by a group of Lance Knights and Troubadors led by a Mage Knight. The village all the way up north contains a power ring, so you'll definitely want to send Fee or Femina off to save it.

In addition to the threats mentioned above, Fetra, Vampa, and Eliu are back, and are charging towards Lenster. On turn three, Blume sends out a Bow Fighter named Faval (or Asaello)--he is recruitable by your Thief, so make sure not to kill him. On turn 5 Blume sends out his daughter Ishtar, a Sage with the Tor Hammer. She leaves the map on turn 12, though, so you don't have to fight her yet if you don't want to.

Thus, start off by send a few mounted units up to Lenster to help out Leaf's group. Alternatively, you can abandon Lenster, but then your main army will have to fight on two fronts. It's your choice. The Mage Knight boss drops a shield ring if you didn't pass it down.

Meanwhile, have your main forces take on the group of Armor Knights. They can be tough, so play it safe--not even Shanan or an Arthur with Holsety can survive consistently if you have them just charge in. Keep your HP up, and hang back if you don't think a character will survive. The General boss drops a hero lance if you didn't pass it down.

After taking care of the immediate threats, Fetra, Vampa, and Eliu have likely reached you. Just take care of the with Shanan, Aless, and your other strong units. Faval/Asaello and Ishtar should then arrive in the next few turns. Recruit Faval (or Asaello) with Patty/Daisy, then either run away from Ishtar, or try to take her on. If you've been levelling Aless, he should be able to beat her in one hit, and he'll have good accuracy. Faval can also take her out, but his accuracy will be much lower.

Now all that should be left are enemies that don't charge at you. Thunderstorm is annoying, so have either Shanan or Aless take those enemies out, before heading over to Blume. If Julia is a high enough level, she'll have enough resistance to help out with healing even if she's in range of Thunderstorm. Capture Conote once you're done.

Mease

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Sety Sety is a Sage, and is Fury's son. If you paired Fury with Levin, he'll have Holsety, but otherwise, he'll probably be using his default starting weapon, a lightning tome. Talk to him with Celice to recruit him.
Hawk Hawk is Sety's sub. He has excellent speed, and while his growths elsewhere are a bit lackluster, he has solid bases. Definitely one of the better subs.

Conversations
Initiator Recipient Effect
Tinny/Linda receives +3 HP, and Celice's relationship with her improves. Not available if either has a lover.
Nanna receives +2 strength and defense. Not available to Janne.
Sety/Hawk is recruited.
Sety/Hawk receives +1 luck.
Sety receives +3 luck. Only available if Levin is Sety's father.

Other: If nobody has died, and neither Celice nor Mana is in love, have them stand next to each other and Mana will receive +5 luck.

After conquering Conote, several things happen. First off, either Sety or Hawk will liberate Manster for you, and send several civilians towards Conote to seek refuge. I recommend saving them with Leaf, who is quite strong once promoted.

Immediately afterwards, Mease will send out some troops. A group of Long Arches and Dragon Riders stay behind to protect Mease, and two groups of Dragon Riders set out to attack you. One heads towards Manster, and the other towards Alster, so try to intercept it before it crosses the mountains. Sety/Hawk can probably hold his own against the Manster group, but don't dawdle too much. The boss of the Manster group drops Aira's hero sword if you didn't pass it down.

Meanwhile, the village on the other side of the mountains contains a thief ring, which lets its holder steal money from any enemy they attack. I recommend it for Aless, because he'll have an easy time reaching the village before it's destroyed, and because Mistoltin is expensive to repair.

Once you've taken care of the pressing problems, you can take Mease. The enemies really aren't that much of a problem, so take care of them with your usual tactics. The boss of the Dragon Riders drops the prayer sword and the boss guarding Mease the killer bow, if you didn't pass one of them down. Seize Mease once you're done with everything.

Chapter 9 Walkthrough

Kapathogia and Luthecia

New Characters
Icon Name Description
Altenna Altenna is a Dragon Knight, and is Cuan and Ethlin's daughter. Her skills are Continue and Critical, and she gains Pursuit upon promotion. She has all around good stats, and comes with the holy Gae Bolg, which grants +10 to strength, skill, and defense. Talk to her with Leaf, then, when she comes back on the map, talk to her with Celice in order to recruit her.
Corple Corple is Sylvia's son, and a Priest. Because he comes at such a low level, it will be difficult to promote him, but most of the time you won't be missing much. If Levin is his father, then promote him as soon as possible so he can use Holsety. Recruit him but capturing Luthecia without killing Hannibal or capturing Kapathogia.
Sharlow Sharlow is Corple's sub. He has Elite, so it isn't as difficult to promote him as it is with Corple. He has good magic and pretty good resistance, but all of his other stats are mediocre at best.
Hannibal Hannibal is a General with Great Shield, Continue, and Ambush. He has good strength, defense, and HP. Recruit him by talking to him with Corple/Sharlow.

Altenna is recruited. This conversation can be initiated by Altenna, too. Only available the second time Altenna appears.
Corple/Sharlow receives +3 HP, and his relations with Patty/Daisy go up. Only available if Patty/Daisy is not is love.
Hannibal is recruited, and Kapathogia becomes a friendly castle.

Other: Have Hawk enter Luthecia to receive +3 magic and resistance. Have either Femina or Janne enter the bottom right village in the northwest corner of the map for +3 defense.

First off, do not go within range of Hannibal's troops until later on--you don't want to give yourself any more problems than the ones the game throws at you. Make sure to send Fee or Femina over to save the villages in the northwest. The village in the middle right has a barrier ring.

Altenna's troops are fairly easy to deal with. Just make sure to have Leaf talk to Altenna. Doing so will cause Altenna to return to Thracia castle. Afterwards, Trabant will emerge (though fortunately without the Gungnir), and, in addition, Hannibal's troops will start charging.

Hannibal is recruitable, but it's tricky to pull off. You have to seize Luthecia without killing him or seizing Kapathogia. This recruits Corple (or Sharlow) who can then talk to Hannibal to recruit him. However, getting past Hannibal's troops without killing him is quite difficult. The trick is to defeat all of his troops without defeating him. This will cause him to retreat to Kapathogia for reinforcements. While doing so, he won't attack you, so you can have a mounted unit rush ahead of him and block him from reaching his castle. Then he will just stand still until you can recruit him.

The only hard part left then, is defeating his troops without killing him. The easiest way to do this is to make him fall asleep. If you passed down the sleep staff, this is easy, but otherwise you'll have to use the sleep sword. I recommend having Patty/Daisy sell it to someone with more defense or avoid before confronting Hannibal's group. The High Priest in Hannibal's group drops a reserve staff if you didn't pass it down.

Meanwhile, Trabant's troops are also charging at you. They are only a bit more difficult than Altenna's, so you don't have to worry too much. Once Trabant dies, Altenna will come out of Thracia castle, and start moving towards Celice. Have Celice talk to her to recruit her.

Once you've dealt with Hannibal, Trabant, and Altenna, have your army move towards Luthecia (remembering to leave someone behind to block the entrance to Kapathogia!). The boss guarding Luthecia drops the other return ring if you didn't pass it down. Once you've captured Luthecia, have Corple/Sharlow go and talk to Hannibal to recruit him. Don't bother sending anyone else, as an army will threaten Luthecia immediately after recruiting him.

Corple/Sharlow receives +1 luck.

After capturing Kapathogia or recruiting Hannibal, a group of promoted mounted soldiers come from the north. Their leader is a Mage Knight who drops a tornado tome upon death. The enemies are fairly powerful, so you may need to rely on Shannan and your Holsety user. At any rate, once you're done there, you can head down to Grutia. The boss has a Fenrir spell, and there is a large group of Long Arches, so this time relying on your high evasion characters is highly recommended. If you don't have or want to use your warp staff, have your most powerful magic units guard Mease, Kapathogia, and Luthecia before capturing Grutia.

Thracia

Altenna receives +3 HP. Not available if Hannibal has already talked to her.
Altenna receives +3 HP. Not available if Fin has already talked to her.

Other: Have Sharlow and Hannibal stand next to each other, and Sharlow will receive a Berserk staff.

After capturing Grutia, Arion will launch the "three-headed dragon" plan, in which he sends out ten Dragons each to Mease, Kapathogia, and Luthecia, while he keeps a large group behind to defend Thracia. If you haven't done so already, send your strongest magic users to the three threatened castles. They should be able to defeat the Dragons fairly easily. That just leaves the group near Thracia. You really don't want anybody but your Holsety user facing Arion, but if necessary, you probably have a few people who can survive a hit from the Gungnir. If you got Sharlow, you should have the berserk staff--Arion is a perfect target for it, as it will buy you five turns in which Arion attacks his own soldiers.

If you have Arion dealt with (one way or another), the rest of his soldiers can probably be dealt with any number of ways--Hannibal with the wing clipper he comes with is an excellent choice, though he might die if he has to face the entire Thracian army.

Once you're done, conquer Thracia. Congratulations, you've completed the hardest chapter in the game!

Nanna/Janne receives +3 HP, and her relationship with Leaf increases. Not available if either is in love.
Lana/Mana receives +3 HP, and her relationship with Faval/Asaello increases. Not available if either is in love.
Shanan receives +3 HP.
Altenna receives +1 luck.

During the pre-chapter dialogue, Julia is captured. You will be able to recruit her again later on, but for the remainder of this chapter (and most of the next), she will not be in your army.

At the beginning of the chapter, 6 civilians appear directly to the north of Chronos, and a group of promoted mounted units come out of Rados to chase them. You'll want to work quickly to save them. At the same time, bandits start attacking the villages in the west. The one to the north of Rados contains a magic ring, so make sure to send one of your fliers to save it.

However, before you can save anybody, you have to take care of the army of Dark Mages to the south of Peruluke. Send all of your characters with high evasion, because the mages are fairly powerful. Also send out someone with a restore staff, as two of the Dark Mages have sleep staves. Try to defeat the enemies as quickly as possible, then head out to intercept the enemy at Chronos.

If you reach Chronos before the enemy does, then you'll be able to stick one of your units in the one square wide passage just below Chronos, to fend off the enemies. This unit will, in all likelihood, not be able to defeat all of the enemies, but he can stand his ground each turn while your mounted units hit and run. Make sure to heal when necessary.

After saving the children, you can attack Hilda, the boss guarding Chronos. She is extremely powerful, so only send holy weapon users against her. She drops Volcanon.

Rados

Oifaye receive +3 HP.

Once Chronos is taken, Rados is easy. Just have Aless kill the Dark Mages, then have Celice seize the castle.

Miletos

Fee receives +5 strength. Only available if Levin was paired with Fury.
Tinny receives +5 magic. Only available if Levin was paired with Tiltyu.
Leen receives +5 defense. Only available if Levin was paired with Sylvia.

After conquering both Chronos and Rados, the gate leading north opens. The army you'll be facing is fortunately not in formation, but unfortunately, several of the Dark Mages have sleep staves. Make sure to use your restore staff somewhat sparingly, as your units will be put to sleep faster than you can cure them of it.

Up by Miletos are Julius and Ishtar. You've faced Ishtar before, but not Julius. His Lopt tome halves the attack power of anyone attacking him before factoring in his own defense. However, both of them will leave if either is defeated, or if one of them kills your units, so if you don't feel up to beating Julius, you can defeat Ishtar or sacrifice one of your units. Lure them out by placing Aless (or someone else with high resistance) on a forest tile within one of their ranges (but not in range of both). then you can pick which one to defeat. Julius drops a leg ring if you didn't pass it down, and Ishtar drops a life ring.

Before capturing Miletos, have Altenna and Fee/Femina go as far north as they can--there'll be some enemies to defeat that your main army won't be able to reach in time.

Chalphy

Altenna receives +5 resistance.
Celice receives the Tyrfing.

Other: If you have Celice deliver the finishing blow to Alvis, then have him stand on the small piece of beach jutting out to the south of Chalphy, he'll receive a life ring.

After conquering Miletos, several things happen. A bridge appears to the west of Miletos leading the Chalphy, which is guarded by a fairly large army. Simultaneously, a Bishop named Palmark and several children appears at the tip of the peninsula to the east of Chalphy, and several Dark Mages head out to kill them. If Celice talks to Palmark, he'll receive the Tyrfing, so make sure to have your fliers kill the Dark Mages before they get too far. This can be tricky if you don't have a very strong Fee/Femina, but it can still be pulled off.

Meanwhile, have someone strong block off the bridge to Chalphy. this person should preferably have high resistance, as there are enemies with sleep staves near Chalphy. Heal this person when necessary, and you should have cleared a path to Chalphy soon enough.

Your next priority is to have Celice obtain the Tyrfing. After that, you can attack Alvis, who is guarding Chalphy. He has incredibly high attack power, so don't have anyone but Celice and Aless attack him. He dodges and activates Great Shield annoyingly often, but if you heal every time you get hurt, he should go down eventually. Then have Celice grab the life ring described above, and seize the chapter.

Final Chapter Walkthrough

Edda

Tinny/Linda receives +1 luck. Not available if either party has a lover.
If Tinny/Linda is in love with any of these men, she will talk to him, and he will receive +3 magic.
If Patty/Daisy is in love with Celice or Shanan, she will talk to him and he will receive +3 HP and +3 speed.
If Patty (not Daisy!) is in love with Lester (not Dimna!), he will receive +3 HP and +3 speed.
If Daisy (not Patty!) is in love with Dimna (not Lester!), he will receive +5 HP.

Your first target will be Edda, to the northeast of Chalphy. They've sent out a group of mounted units to attack Chalphy, and there are a group of Dark Mages in the nearby cliffs. But before leaving the castle, have your staff user with the highest magic (usually Sety or Hawk) buy the silence staff. It's a bit expensive, so you may need to have Patty or Daisy give him money. There's an enemy later on you'll need to silence, so this is very important.

After dealing with that, your first order of business will be to kill the Dark Mages with your fliers, as they have fenrir tomes and silence staves. After that, the enemies charging at you should be pretty easy to deal with.

The enemies up by Edda have sleep staves and long range spells, so don't send anybody who doesn't have high resistance. Celice and Aless should be able to solo the enemies, anyways, as they aren't very strong. Conquer Edda once you're done.

Dozel

If Nanna (not Janne!) is in love with one of these people, she will talk to him, and he will receive +3 defense.
If Janne (not Nanna!) is in love with Celice or Leaf, she will have a talk with him. Celice will receive +3 defense, and Leaf will receive +5 HP.
If Mana (not Lana!) is in love with Asaello (not Faval!), he will receive +5 HP.

After conquering Edda, a group of Axe Knights will come out of Dozel towards Edda, and a group of Great Knights will head towards Chalphy. The leader of the Chalphy group is Burian, a Master Knight with the holy Swanchika axe, which you last fought against in chapter 5. Because of the high defensive boosts it gives, you should probably only attack him with holy weapons, Holsety being the best option if you passed it down. Otherwise, one of the holy swords will do. The enemies attacking Edda are rather weak, so probably a single one of you units will do. Fortunately, the bulk of your army should already be in and about Chalphy anyways, in a perfect position to deal with Burian's troops. If necessary, you can defeat all of the Great Knights and bring Celice and Aless down to help while Burian goes for reinforcements--you'll have to fight the Great Knights again, but you'll have your entire army assembled to meet them.

After that, bring all of your strong units up towards Dozel, except for Altenna, who you should leave in Chalphy. You'll see why after you conquer Freege.

Freege

If Lana/Mana is in love with Celice or Skasaha/Rodolban, he will receive +3 resistance.
If Lana (not Mana!) is in love with Faval (not Asaello!) then he will receive +3 resistance.
If Lakche/Radnay is in love with one of these people, he will receive +3 strength.

After conquering Dozel, a group of Barons with silver lances and tron spells will come out to guard Freege. However, if you get too close to Freege, a group of Bow Knights led by a Master Knight named Scorpio will emerge from the southwest corner of the map. They aren't too tough, but be prepared for them, and have a few bow or magic users down there when you approach Freege. The Barons around Freege are fairly tough, so have some units with high evade stand on the mountains just to the south of Freege. To defeat Hilda (for good, this time), you'll probably need a holy weapon user, as she's fairly strong. Before conquering Freege, gather your army (other than Altenna, who should be in Chalphy) up by Freege, and have Fee/Femina kill off the Dark Mages over the nearby cliff. Then go ahead and seize the castle.

Velthomer and Barhara

If Fee/Femina is in love with Celice of Arthur/Amid, he will receive +3 skill.
If Fee (not Femina!) is in love with Oifaye, he will receive +3 skill.
Arion and all of his troops become allies (though Arion is not recruited).
None
If you have Celice talk to Julia after killing Manfroy, she will rejoin your army.

Other: Have Julia enter Velthomer and she will obatin the Narga spell.

After conquering Freege, several things happen. First, Ishtar comes out of Barhara with an army containing a variety of troops, and three very powerful Falcon Knights with leg rings. Second, Manfroy brainwashes Julia and sends her out (as an enemy) to attack your army. Finally, one turn later, Arion and a group of Dragon Knights appear in the southeast corner of the map.

The easiest group of enemies to deal with is Arion's. Just have Altenna talk to him, and his entire group will become allied. Ishtar's group, however, is probably the strongest set of enemies in the game. You only want your very strongest participating in this battle, and even then, her Falcon Knights can give you trouble with their earth swords and leg rings. There's no real advice I can offer other than to be careful.

Once you've dealt with Ishtar's group, Julia should be getting close. You can recruit her by having Celice talk to her after killing Manfroy, the person guarding Velthomer. The easiest way to keep her from dying while you have Celice deal with Velthomer is to silence her, which is why I recommended giving a high-magic unit the silence staff earlier in the chapter. If that doesn't work, the next best option is the sleep sword, but that's much riskier because the sleep sword isn't guaranteed to make her fall asleep. If all else fails, you can rely on the Tyrfing's +20 resistance and just have Celice lure her towards Velthomer.

Once you've dealt with Julia, have Celice rush over to Velthomer. He only needs a little bit of luck to avoid the Dark Mages with hel, and Manfroy isn't very strong. Once he's conquered Velthomer, have him rush back to Julia and recruit her. Then have Julia go back to Velthomer. When she enters Velthomer, she'll receive the Narga spell, which grants +20 to speed, skill, defense, and resistance, and negates the special ability of the Lopt spell.

Now all that's between you and Julius are the twelve dark warriors guarding Barhara. They are quite strong, but aren't in formation, making them easy to pick off with your holy weapon users.

Julius himself has gotten stronger since you last met him, gaining Nihil and Wrath. He's quite challenging if you don't have Narga, but if you do, he's a pushover, as Julia can easily overpower him. Once you defeat him, have Celice seize Barhara. Congratulations! You've beaten the game!
