Chapter 1: The Start of Marth's journey

Your characters:

Marth: he is the main character. Altough he isn't an excellent unit, you must use him for every chapter.

Jeigan: A prepromoted Paladin. You mustn't overuse this unit. He won't gain stats almost never. Use him only to weaken enemies so your other characters kill them.

Kain: A Social Knight with good stats all around. He is better than Abel in speed, skill, luck and weapon skill

Abel: A Social Knight with good stats all around. He is better than Kain in HP and strenght.

*Note: Out of Kain and Abel, I recommend using only one of them. If you can't decide which do you like more, use them both at first and decide after some level ups.

Doga: An armour knight. He can be a great unit. I recommend using him.

Sheeda: Your first pegasus knight. She isn't very strong, but she has excellent skill, speed, weapon level and luck.

Gordon: He is an archer. At first, he is difficult to train, since he won't double attack until promotion. However, if you give him some time, he can be a valuable unit

Chapter's strategy:

This is what you should do during your first turn:

Attack the thief that is south of your army with Abel (use a ranged attack with his javelin). Now, kill that thief with Kain, If one of your two attacks misses, then use Sheeda

Visit the village with Marth. Move Jeigan to the armory. Buy the following items:

  • 3 iron lances (for Jeigan, Sheeda and Abel)
  • 1 iron sword (for Marth)
  • 2 javelins (for Doga and Kain)

After buying the items, equip one of the iron laces to Jeigan. Move Sheeda towards Jeigan (if you haven't moved her yet) and select the trade command. Give Sheeda an Iron Lance

Advance one or two spaces with Doga and keep Gordon behind him. This is how your screen should look after moving your units:

In the next turn, start trading the items that you bought. Move Doga so that he is in range of the closest enemy (you can check an enemy's range by pressing the A button on him). Keep the rest of your army behind Doga.

The enemy will attack Doga. During your turn, finish him with Gordon and Marth. Form a wall with your units. Include Jeigan, since he has good defense, and with the iron lance, he won't inflict a lot of damage and won't double attack, so your weaker units can get more experience.

Keep advancing, but make sure that Sheeda isn't in the range of the archer (bows are effective against flying units). Move someone to the fort and the woods shown in the image below (the red circle indicates the fort's location and the blue circle are the woods).

If the character that is in the fort receives damage, have him get out of there and replace him with another of your characters. Eventually, all the enemies around that area will be finished.

After those enemies are down, move towards the castle. Visit the village with Marth. The two axe fighters that stand besides the boss are your next target. Move two of your units next to them, but don't attack, wait until their turn. They will attack you, and in your next turn you can kill them

Now, only the boss remains. Use Gordon and any other attacker, I recommend Doga. Attack him until he dies and Seize the throne

Congratulations! You completed the first chapter, but don't feel overconfident, the next chapters are going to be tougher.

Chapter 2: The pirates of Garda

New characters:

Saji: one of the three axe fighters. His growhts are pretty balanced, except for his speed, which is horrible

Maji: one of the three axe fighters. he wins in HP and weapon skill, but the rest of his stats aren't great

Barts: one of the three axe fighters. he is the best of the three axe fighters. His growhts are excellent (sadly he can't promote)

Note: The axe fighters can't promote. Both Saji and Barts have solid stats, so if you want to have a powerful attacker use one of them. I recommend Barts.

Oguma: A mercenary. Simply put, one of the best characters in the game. Definitely use him, you won't regret it.

Kashim: He starts as an enemy (see the picture below, he is the one inside the orange circle). He is a hunter, basically, an archer who gets a horse upon promotion. I recommend using him over Gordon. Recruit him with Sheeda

Chapter's strategy:

From your starting position, move two of your units so they block the two bridges at the west. Have another unit stand in the fort and another blocking the bridge.

Hold on there for 2 or 3 turns, when Kashim approaches, have Sheeda speak to him, but make sure that she is out of the range of the other hunter. If one of the social knights approach the south bridge, block it with Marth and have the rapier equipped

After you finish those enemies, move any wounded unit to the fort. The rest of your army should advance west, kill all the remaining enemies, it should'nt be difficult since you already killed most if them. Go to the armory if you need new weapons. Also, don't forget to visit the village with Marth

The boss is easy. Use Kashim and Gordon for ranged attacks, but be careful, the boss has a hand axe. Use strong fighters like Doga and Oguma for direct attacks and he will be dead in no time. The boss will drop a steel sword, give it to Oguma. Finally, seize the throne with Marth.

Chapter 3: Devil Mountain

New characters:

Julian: A thief. He is mainly an utility unit, not a fighter. He can't promote but he can repair bridges and open doors and chests.

Rena: A cleric. She will be your main healer during all Book 1. She can't use offensive magic until promotion

Navarre: A mercenary. Starts as an enemy (see picture below). Just like Oguma, he is one of the best characters in the game. I highly recommend you to use him. To convert him, have Sheeda speak with him

Chapter's strategy

First, move Julian and Rena to join with the rest of your army. Split your army in two teams, one is going to face the enemies coming from the north (I will refer to it as team 1)and the rest will go to the enemy castle (team 2). Have a high defense character (Doga) go in front of the group that will block the northern enemies. Make sure that Sheeda is in team 1, since she has to recruit Navarre. The team that is heading west should have Marth, who has to save the village.

Team 1 shouldn't have a lot of trouble if Doga is there, recruit Navarre as fast as possible, but make sure that the hunter can't hit Sheeda.

Team 2 should have Jeigan at the front. Use him to lure one hunter and kill him with your other units.

Next, move Jeigan to the fort shown in the picture below to lure an axe fighter and the other hunter. Finish those enemies with your other units.

Team 1 should't have a lot of trouble killing the enemies, and Navarre can be a great help once you recruit him.

Use Jeigan and Oguma to lure slowly all the axe fighters near the castle; try to lure 2 per turn, use the woods for an evasion boost, too. Any wounded unit should retreat to a fort.

Once all the generic enemies are down, you know what to do. Kill the boss with your best ranged and direct attacks. The boss will drop a relieve staff for Rena. Buy weapons in the armory if you need them (especially an iron sword for Navarre). Once you finish with your preparations, seize the throne.

Chapter 4: The Soldiers of Orleans

New characters:

Hardain: He is the best Social Knight/Paladin in book 1. I highly recommend to use him along with Kain or Abel.

Roshe: He has balanced stats all around, but Kain or Abel may have better stats by now.

Villuck: His stat growhts are very low, he won't excel in any stat. Don't use him.

Zaggaro: A prepromoted horseman. He has good HP but the rest of his stats aren't anything special. Don't use him

Ulf: Another prepromoted horseman. He has better stats than Zaggaro but still, he isn't great. He is a little useful in maps where there are wyvern riders. Still, if you want a horseman, use Kashim.

Marchis: A Social Knight who starts as an enemy. He only excels in weapon skill. To recruit him, have Rena speak with him. Not very recommendable

Out of the 2 enemy Social Knights, Marchis is the one in the right.

Maric: Your first mage and the only one who can use Excalibur. He has balanced stats. To recruit him, visit the northern village.

Chapter's strategy:

Have Hardain's team move towards the path shown in the picture below:

Meanwhile, have the rest of your army advance north, while trying to lure one of the Social Knights

Now, if you want to recruit Marchis, stay out of his range and he won't attack you. Move Hardain's group near the bridge so they can rejoin with your main group. If you can, kill one or two enemies. Use the woods to increase your evasion.

Meanwhile, kill the social knights, the pegasus knight and the archer that are near your main group. Make sure to visit the village with Marth. You'll get a Red Mamkute Stone, you will use it later.

In the next turn, kill the thieves, if you can't reach them, move someone to the village's gate so they can't destroy it.

Hardain's troops should use the forests so they don't die easily. Kill the enemies that approach Hardain's group while staying out of Marchis range. This may be difficult, so be patient.

Have Marth visit the remaining village to recruit Maric. Now, Lure Marchis, while having Rena near so she can speak with her brother.

Buy some steel weapons in the armory and advance towards the castle. By now, there should remain only a few enemies, so it will be easy to kill them. The armor knights have high defense, but Marth's rapier along with Maric's magic can easily take care of them. The enemy priest will drop a Live Staff, give it to Rena.

The armor knight besides the boss will drop an Armorslayer, give it to Oguma or Navarre.

The boss is easy, you can use Marth with the Rapier, Maric or someone with the Armorslayer, but don't attack him with a Social Knight, since he has a Knightkiller.

Once the boss is dead, give the Knightkiller to Doga and seize the throne.

Chapter 5: Fire Emblem

New characters:

Ricardo: A thief. Recruit him with Julian. He is another utility unit, but Julian is better.

Wendel: A prepromoted magic user. Recruit him with Maric. Not very recommendable, but you can use him as a secondary healer for a few chapters.

Note: Both Ricardo and Wendel are locked in a room above of your starting location.

Chapter's Strategy:

First of all, this is an inside chapter, this means that all your mounted units will be dismounted and can use only swords.

Now, you need to open those chests before the enemy, so ignore Wendel and Ricardo for now, and advance as fast as possible.

You know how to beat that armor knight, so just lure him with Marth and his Rapier.

It looks like there is no way to reach the northern chest before that thief, right? Well, just use Rena's warp staff to move a character there and block the chest. If other thieves open chests, just kill them and they will drop the item they stole.

You must know how to kill all the enemies. Just lure them and finish them quickly. But be careful with the enemy mage. You have to do it fast and kill all the thieves. If you can't reach them, the character that you warped to the northern chest should block their escape route.

The rest of your team should advance towards the boss, slowly luring all the enemies and healing if necessary.

Once you have all the treasure, send Maric and Julian to the room where Ricardo and Wendel are caught and recruit them.

The boss has good defense, but he is nothing against Maric's magic.

If you got the Angelic Robe, I suggest giving it to Marth.

After you seize the throne, Princess Nina will give you the Fire Emblem, with it, Marth can open chests.
