Chapter 16: Black Knight Camus New characters: Est: A Pegasus Knight who comes under-levelled. However, she has the best growths and has the potential to be one of your best units. Use her if you have the patience to raise her. She can also do the triangle attack with Katua and Paola. She comes with the Miracle Sword, the most powerful sword in the game. Visit the village to recruit her. Lawrence: A General who starts as an enemy. He has great defense and weapon level, but mediocre in everything else. Recruit him with Sheeda. Chapter's Strategy: This chapter is difficult, mainly because of all the Paladins equipped with Silver lances and the boss. You will get 2 of the most powerful weapons of the game. As I mentioned above, Est comes with the Miracle Sword, and the boss, Camus, has the Gradius (a lance). Have your strongest Pegasus Knight destroy the Ballista that is located at the left of your starting position. Make sure your unit can endure a hit from each general (2 hits in total), if your Pegasus Knights can't endure them, send Minerva. During the next turn, have her flee to a safe location, with the rest of your party. Lure the 4 Paladins that are at the west of your starting position. Once you kill them, save the village as fast as possible and destroy the 2 ballistas. Long movement units are recommended for this. Once the Paladins are dead and you recruited Est, give the Miracle sword and the Star orb to your most powerful sword user (Oguma, Navarre or Raddy will probably be your best options). Why the Star orb? Because the weapons of the character holding it won't lose uses. Fully heal your characters and repair the bridge with your thief. Kill the 2 generals and keep advancing. Restock your supplies in the shops and fight in the arena if you wish. Soon, there will be reinforcements (archers, armor knights, social knights and horsemen) coming from these forts: I recommend to leave a high defense character blocking the bridge while the rest of your group heads for the castle. If your unit's defense is higher than the enemies' attack, they won't attack you. Now it comes the difficult part. There are two ballistas, some Paladins and Lawrence with another General. Lure Lawrence and recruit him, get rid of the ballistas as fast as possible and then kill the Paladins (except Camus). Chiki as a God Dragon helps a lot here. Attack the Paladins from a distance, otherwise, you'll be inside of Camus' range. Only Camus remains, and he is a fierce opponent, use the Miracle Sword to beat him. Chapter 17: Knight on the wings There are no new characters in this chapter. Have all your troops move through the eastern path. The boss and his troops will start coming towards you. Most of them are flying units, so use arrrows and magic against them. The Pegasus Knights can fall easily against physical weapons. The boss has capped defense and an Aiote Shield (now arrows and wind magic won't do extra damage). However, his resistance is zero, so magic will hurt him a lot. Chiki as a God Dragon is recommended here. Try to take advantage of terrain as much as possible, there are some woods and mountains. Since the path is pretty narrow, you can play defensively to reduce enemy numbers, but hurry up to save the village. If you think the thief will destroy the village before you arrive, then warp someone to protect it. Once you have ensured the village's safety visit it with Marth, but make sure you give him the Star and Light orbs. Gato will give you the Starlight spell in exchange. Now you can defeat Garnef and recover the Falchion!. Finally, enter the building, have some characters stand on the forts and kill any remaining enemies. Don't forget to buy supplies. Then, seize the throne. Chapter 18: Evil priest Garnef No new characters in this chapter. Chapter's Strategy: Make sure your best magic user has the Starlight spell. Now, there are a lot of Garnef clones in this map. Here is the real Garnef: You can tell who is the real one because he has the Falchion in his inventory. There are some magic users near your starting position, kill them with your best ranged attacks (you can't kill some of them with melee attacks vecause of the walls). There are 2 snipers, too, but they shouldn't be much of a problem. Get the treasure as fast as possible and approach the center of the room; where you should lure the heros. Just make sure you are not inside Garnef's attack range yet. Once the heros are dead, it's time to face Garnef. Have your starlight user stand here (use a pure water if you wish): Garnef will attack you, and he should die in 2 or 3 hits. Hurry up, because reinforcements will start coming from the far left and right sides of the map. Once Garnef is dead, hurry up and go north. Be careful with the Generals and snipers, as they carry silver weapons. If you don't have Starlight, your best option is to warp Marth near the throne and kill the Garnef clone standing in the throne, then seize. Chapter 19: Kingdom of Mamkutes New characters: Ellis: Marth's sister and an underleveled cleric. She is the only character capable of using the Ohm staff to revive characters. She joins automatically at the beggining of the chapter.
Chapter's strategy: As the chapter's name suggest, this map is full of mamkutes. Your best friends here are Dragonslayer swords, ice magic, the royal weapons (Partia, Gradius and Miracle Sword), Chiki and your just obtained Falchion. There are also some Snipers and magic users, but they shouldn't be too difficult. Buy any weapons and items that you may need in the armory and shop. The enemies that start south of your starting position will move through the mountains to reach you. Be careful wuth them. You should advance east, then turn south and go to the far left side of the map, luring all the enemies slowly, as most of them are dangerous. I recommend giving Marth most of the kills so he can reach level 20. If one of your units has died, you can revive him/her using Ellis' Ohm staff in the temple in this chapter. After some turns, reinforcements will come from ALL the forts in the map (but only during 1 turn). Kill them quickly and proceed. All in all, this chapter is pretty easy, you only have to move with caution. Chapter 20: The Chosen Ones No new characters in this chapter. Before you start: As you can see, your troops start divided in four groups. In the character selection screen, you can determine how they will be placed. Take a look at these pictures. For multiple characters of certain classes I used some boxes so you can differenciate them: Now, I'll teach you how to select your characters so they end in the position you want. Let's assume your character selection screen looks like the first pic above. Now let's imagine you want Jeigan to occupy the second spot. You select him, then press B and re-enter the character selection screen. > Repeat that for all the characters so can decide where they will be placed. Chapter's strategy: Your main strategy is to play defensively until your characters rejoin. It is highly suggested that you bring all kind of staves (Libro, restore and recover are very useful here). If you check the above pictures you can see I labeled the groups. I made that because that will make the chapter's strategy easier to explain. Group #1: Move west, then north. Group 1's objective is to rejoin with group 2 and group 3, then have Marth reach Medeus. Group #2: During the first turn, lure the sniper, you'll kill him in your second turn. Then play defensively until groups 1 and 3 can help. I recommend a high defense unit to be in this group. Group #3: Lure the hero, then kill him in the second turn if he's not dead. Then kill the sniper and mamkute and rejoin with group 1. Use someone who has a Dragonslayer sword and other strong melee attackers. Group #4: Lure the magic user, then kill him in the second turn. Play defensively to lure the Generals and then kill the mamkute. Chiki or High defense/HP character are my recommendations here. And that's how it begins. Now they will start to attack you (especially Group#2). Remember to play defensively and use staves to heal. Groups 1 and 3 should aid Group 2 as fast as you can. Meanwhile, Group 4 should try to rejoin too (be careful with the magic user who can use Meteor. He is at Medeus' right side.) When all your units are reunited, head north, towards Medeus' room (hurry up, reinforcements will arrive.) There are 2 Snipers at the entrance, kill them with melee attacks. 2 Dragons should be there as well, use the Falchion or a Dragonslayer sword. Then, kill the Mamkute and the magic users that surround Medeus with ranged attacks.Don't go melee, or you'll end inside Medeus' range. After that, have Marth and your Royal weapons users deal with Medeus. After attacking, use staves to cure. Medeus should be dead in a couple turns. It is very easy to critical him since his luck is 0. After you kill Medeus, seize the throne and congratulate yourself, as you beat Book 1!!. You rock!
